اتهم أكبر تحالف لأحزاب المعارضة الموريتانية السلطات الأمنية بـ “اختطاف” خمسة من نشطاء المعارضة بمدينة نواذيبو شمال غرب البلاد، وطالب بإطلاق سراحهم “فورا ودون تأخير”.
وندد “المنتدى الوطني للديمقراطية والوحدة” بتوقيف النشطاء الخمسة الذين قال إنهم “لا يعرف مكان احتجازهم حتى مساء الأحد”.
وقال بيان المنتدى المعارض إن توقيف النشطاء “كشف الطبيعة الاستبدادية للنظام، وغطرسته في مواجهة حرية التعبير والتجمع، اللذين كفلهما الدستور وتقرهما القوانين الدولية”. وأكد وقوف المعارضة “بقوة مع كل مواطن يعبر عن مواقفه السلمية بحرية”.
وفي وقت سابق اليوم، أوقفت الشرطة خمسة نشطاء عقب كتابتهم شعارات رافضة لتعديل الدستور على الجدران بمدينة نواذيبو الساحلية، بالتزامن مع زيارة الرئيس محمد ولد عبد العزيز للمدينة حيث ينتظر أن يزور خلالها بعض المنشآت الحكومية صباح اليوم الاثنين.
وحددت الحكومة تاريخ 15 يوليو/تموز 2017 موعدا لإجراء استفتاء على تعديلات دستورية ترفضها المعارضة وأجزاء واسعة من الطيف السياسي ومن ضمنه موالون للنظام.
وتشمل أبرز التعديلات الدستورية -التي قدمتها الحكومة وأسقطها مجلس الشيوخ- إلغاء “محكمة العدل السامية” المعنية بمحاكمة الرئيس وأعضاء الحكومة، وإنشاء مجالس جهوية إدارية للتنمية، وتوسيع النسبية في الانتخابات العامة، وتغيير العلم الوطني، وإلغاء مجلس الشيوخ.
